As students develop their ability to understand and recognize the angles of attack, blocking is of paramount importance.  Once solid blocking ability is established students can explore a multitude of counter-strikes, trapping, locking, take-downs and pain compliance follow-ups.

Hand Sinawali:  Hand Sinawali is broken down into several categories.  Each category is listed independently below.

Right Handed Striking

Angles in Combination Sequence: 1 > 4 > 2 > 3

Soft Style Striking

Angle 1: Salchoy (or Chop Choy) follows through to right-hand low guard position

Angle 4: Low backhand (or tiger fist) retracts to right-hand high guard

Angle 2: Guachoy follows through to horizontal pushing palm

Angle 3: Faanjong with left hand in alive hand position, retracts & salchoy again

Hard Style Striking

Angle 1: High Straight Punch snaps back to right-hand high guard

Angle 4: Low Backfist snaps back to right-hand high guard

Angle 2: High Backfist snaps back to right-hand high guard

Angle 3: Low Vertical Palm Strike

Right & Left Hand Blocking & Striking

Angles in Combination Sequence: 1 > 4 (right) + 1 > 4 (left)

Blocking

Angle 1: Inside Arm Block

Angle 4: Leg Block

Striking

Angle 1: High Straight Punch

Angle 4: Low Backfist or Straight Kick
